Anthony J. Phillips
Coach Phillips was a 3
sport varsity athlete in high school and was offered scholarships to play both football and lacrosse in college. He
studied Economics and Marketing in the Wharton School of Business and graduated with a BA from the University of Pennsylvania
in 1993. Coach Phillips was a 4 year varsity letterman, a Senior All-Star and earned All Ivy honors as a varsity lacrosse
After graduation Phillips entered a career in advertising where he worked for Ogilvy Advertising and Yankelovich
Partners. In 1994, while living in New York City, he partnered with 3 colleagues and started his own company, Persaud
Brothers. In 1997 he moved to Atlanta to start a satellite office for his company. During his career he has created
advertising and marketing campaigns for companies like Coca-Cola, Nike, HBO, American Express and many others. In 2004
he took two years off to pursue a graduate degree from Emory’s Goizueta School of Business. In May of 2006 he
graduated with an MBA focused on International Business, Marketing and Leadership. He now works with the Global Marketing
Team at The Coca-Cola Company launching new products around the world.
Phillips has coached youth basketball in the Smyrna recreational league for the last 5 years and coached Georgia Fastbreak's
9 and 10 year old AAU/YBOA teams for the last 4 years. In his personal time when he is not coaching youth sports,
he serves as a Board Member for the True Colors Theatre Company and competes in triathlons as well. He is married to
Brandi Phillips and they have two boys; Braelen, age 11 and Andrew, age 3.
